Our Grant Program
Walking With Anthony’s donation funded grant program was created to provide urgent rehabilitation grants and access to essential recovery resources for those recently affected by spinal cord injuries. This emergency initiative helps bridge the impossible gap between what insurance covers—and what recovery truly requires. Without immediate support, those injured may never walk—or live independently—again.
Meet Micki & Anthony
In the late morning of February 6, 2010, Anthony Purcell dove into the waters of Miami Beach, something he’d done many times before without incident. This time, he misjudged the depth of his landing spot, broke his neck, and bruised the C5 and C6 vertabrae in his spine. He injured his spinal cord. He was paralyzed, unable to resurface from the water on his own.

2022 I was a victim of a gun I got shot multiple times(15) from chest down by the police of Atlanta unfortunately! causing me to be a quadriplegic BUT by the grace of GOD & my ANGELS I’m STILL BREATHING.
I woke up in a hospital room and found out I was in a high speed head on collision. I was thrown from the vehicle and sustained a TBI, SCI and two broken femurs.
I was injured in a diving accident on July 3rd 2021. I was enjoying a sunny Saturday at the beach with friends before heading to work in the afternoon when I miscalculated the water’s depth when diving into a wave not far from the shore.
In April 22 Allison jumped over a bench causing an ankle fracture. After a few months it hadn’t healed and she was sent to PT. But the foot kept tightening up and ended up contracted.
It’s hard to explain, I was in a abusive relationship got hit that caused a spine injury that changed my life.
My brother stepped in a fire ant bed on 5/5/2024 and was allergic making him fall. He has been in various hospitals since that date and has only returned home for 1 day in almost 9 months. He has a stage IV pressure sore that turned into osteomyelitis so he is currently in a LTACH, wound care facility.
A friend and I jumped into the water from the side of the pontoon and I must’ve misjudged the depth of the water or not been able to see the sand bar since it was night time but I dove directly onto a sand bar and in that moment life as I knew it changed.
I was involved in a motorcycle accident on 5/14/23 when a driver failed to yield to me in oncoming traffic. The crash caused many severe injuries with the most severe being a spinal cord injury.
On November 11 th , 2020, I fell 50-feet down a sheer cliff and shattered my spine. I had been living in a prolonged period of internalized strife as I drifted through life, unsure of myself and lacking in direction, when a slight misstep on a hike resulted in an accident that would fundamentally change my existence.
After work on Good Friday of 2023, Jeremiah and a few co workers went to ride dirtbikes as they have many times before. Jeremiah lost control, went over the handle bars and landed on his head breaking his c5 vertebrae.
Andy was on vacation with his many and suffered a broken back from a fall. He is paralyzed from the waist down. Andy works out every day and is determined to beat the odds of his diagnosis.
